Sudhir's first and second day at AEC, Bhatkal

Hi Bypassians and AEC'ns,

Its been long time since the last blog,

Sorry for the delay guys,

Well there is a response for my blog on the first day's in AEC and Bhatkal,

Sudhir has responded with his warm memories of Bhatkal,

Such memories will make us feel the time of Bhatkal.... those first days in Bhatkal with lots of hopes and thrills...... why dont you all share the first days at Bhatkal .....at AEC...???

Here goes Sudhir's First and second day...

Dec 4th, 1993
Time: 8 AM.
We took a rickshaw from Vaibhav to AEC!!!..I was amazed to see the rickshaw mounting a hill.............!!!!!!!!
My parents were there with me to the Principal's office for the formalities of joining the college! (They had accompanied me in the rickshaw)
I had the CET board seat allocation chit with me, and after flashing that at the Principal's office and after undergoing the other formalities, we went to Nagraj's Canteen......we had idlis and coffee along with the peon at the principal's office (forgot his name!).....My dad offered him 20Rs for his courtesy for joining us to the canteen!....As a respect, he told me (in front of my dad) to come next day to the college and contact him for any assistance that I may require!...He also told us to go home for that day!....Next day was a sunday. I asked him whether the college will be open the next day!..he replied that Friday is an holiday for AEC!

Dec 5th, 1993
We were still put up in Vaibhav. At around 8 AM, I took a rickshaw again (alone this time, leaving behind parents at the lodge) to the college!
I met that peon, whom we met the earlier day and asked him for the Electrical class. He told me that its in the first floor above Principal's office and also that the class starts at 8:00 AM. I rushed to the class in the first floor, it was 8:15 AM.......I asked the Lecturer's (forgot his name, Maths lecturer - not Ataulla!!!) permisson and the was looking for a place to sit.......class strength was huge (around 120 people)...finally I found a place and warmed it!
I saw next to me on the left, a lean and handsome fellow, with brown eyes sitting!...I said Hello to him....and asked him where he was from!....He said in a typical Malayali accent...that he is from Trivendrum, Kerala. He was none other than Matthew Solomon Mathai!!!!!!
After that class and one more class (don't remember that at all!)...the classes were called off and we were asked to go home and come the next day!
I headed back home(oops..sorry Vaibhav lodge!)......I walked all the way to the entrance to the hill to AEC and in the VRL booking office, Booked 2 tickets for that evening to Bangalore, for my parents and went to lodge.

My dad and mom, in the meantime had talked to Sudhir (receptionist at Vaibhav) and arranged for a small house in Mood Bhatkal. When I went to the lodge, they told me the same and it was time for us to visit my future-house in mood bhatkal. He showed us the house and although the rent was expensive (400Rs PM), my parents were okay with that as they believed some other AECians may join me as promised by Sudhir. He also explained that there are buses from bypass to AEC, when we expressed our concern that the distance is too much to commute daily!.... His comments made us feel a bit good. We asked Sudhir (he was the owner of the house) to get the house cleaned and we went all the way back to Vaibhav and packed our things to come back with our luggage at around 3:00 PM.

So, finally I got my accomadation thing done!...Now, It was time for us to shop!...We went around the stretch from my room to Quality (old one!)..and purchased some utensils and other stuff!..I had to keep track of the route from the room to all the places we went so as to make sure, we reach the room, without any hiccups!!!..I did it very successfully (needless to say!)....
My mom prepared some chapathis and curry that evening and now it was time for them to leave Bhatkal, leaving me alone, high and dry!!!!
That painstaking moment also finally arrived, Sudhir had arranged a rickshaw from my new house to Bhatkal bus stand and back!....I saw-off my parents and came all the way back to my new house in mood bhatkal!....not to mention that I had tears in my eyes. I had never been away from them, uptil that time!!!

Thanks and Regards,
Sudhir V Pudwal
